Many organizations are involved in removing landmines and returning land to mine-affected communities around the world. It can be very difficult to decide where to donate funds and figure out how to go about making a donation.
Following is a list of some humanitarian mine action organizations, all non-profit organizations, who are members of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) and most participate in the ICBL’s Mine Action Working Group to advance advocacy goals of mine action. Mine action can include various activities: survey and assessment, mapping, marking, mine awareness/risk reduction, mine clearance, training and over development-oriented activities for rebuilding communities. These groups may engage in all or some of these kinds of activities. The following list includes details about how to support their projects. This is by no means a complete list of all the groups involved in removing mines.
When making a donation please keep in mind where you would like to donate funds. Most organizations prefer general donations so funds can be used for the projects that need them most, but country-specific donations may be possible. Also, some mine clearance organizations may not be registered in your country and thus may not be tax exempt. Please take these factors into consideration when making a donation.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the ICBL at "icbl at-sgn icbl.org".
To make a donation to ICBL itself see our main donations page.
