Summary of the Landmine and Cluster Munition Monitor Coordinator position:

The Coordinator is responsible for providing coordination of the Monitor initiative. The Coordinator’s primary responsibility is ensuring that editorial and policy decisions made by the Editorial Board are implemented effectively, including the regular publication and distribution of the Monitor's publications. The Coordinator facilitates communication among all the organizations and individuals participating in the initiative, including the research network, Editorial Team, and the Editorial Board.

Desired qualifications:

• A minimum of three years of progressive coordination experience, preferably in the NGO sector;
• A bachelor’s degree in political science, international development, international relations, or a related field;
• Excellent computer skills including advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and internet and email proficiency;
• Experience managing and updating a website;
• Demonstrated experience in managing consultants, monitoring contracts, and working with a Board;
• Concrete experience managing via a results-based management or logic framework;
• Strong English-language writing and oral skills (additional languages would be an asset);
• Able to work independently with little supervision, short deadlines, and limited resources;
• Excellent and proven communication and interpersonal skills with a wide variety of multi-cultural, multi-lingual groups and stakeholders;
• Functions well under pressure, can handle numerous tasks simultaneously, and excellent time management skills;
• Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail;
• The ability to be creative, flexible and adaptable;
• Knowledge and experience with the landmines and cluster munitions issues is desirable; and a
• Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally.
