Landmine Monitor Copyright Policy

We encourage you to use the Landmine Monitor findings in your own research and advocacy against landmines but require that you fully source any material you use from the site. These are the ground-rules for use of the findings of the Landmine Monitor reports and the materials associated with the reports. Please respect them.

  • Do not copy all or parts of the Landmine Monitor reports or associated materials for use on your own web pages. Instead please link directly to the Landmine Monitor site. All country reports are available as direct links - see our linking page for more information.
  • If you are citing Landmine Monitor research from the web version of the report, include the full citation details described below and also include the web access details and the date when you accessed the report.
  • This is the correct way to cite the report:International Campaign to Ban Landmines, Landmine Monitor Report 2001: Toward a Mine-Free World, (New York: Human Rights Watch, August 2001, 1,175 pages).
  • Please consider the following when you attempt to describe the Landmine Monitor: The annual Landmine Monitor reports are products of the Landmine Monitor initiative of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL). The ICBL is the author of the reports. Human Rights Watch, a research organization, which is a founding member of ICBL and Coordinator of the Landmine Monitor initiative, is the publisher of the reports.
  • Any use of the cover image of each Landmine Monitor report without inclusion of the full cover information is prohibited. The image may only be used in the form in which you find it on the site. No modification except resizing is allowed.
  • If the Landmine Monitor information you use is published, please send a copy of the final version or the publication in which it appeared to us at the contact details found the contacts page.
  • Any re-production of the maps contained in the report and executive summary is prohibited, unless you obtain written permission to use them from Landmine Monitor.
  • Reports after 2005 are published by MAC.
