In just 100 days the all-important Nairobi Summit on a Mine-Free World kicks off! This, the first Review Conference of the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty, will begin on 29 November and run until 3 December in the Kenyan capital.
The International Campaign to Ban Landmines, is working hard to ensure its success, together with partners in government, the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross and others.
Now we are stepping up efforts! Our current priorities, outlined in the ACTION COUNTDOWN! are to:
- urge governments to send high level, well-prepared delegations to the Nairobi Summit
- urge governments to input in the Action Plan and other draft Summit documents
- attract media coverage of the Summit.
