The ICBL generally welcomes members to organize side events around the 8th Meeting of States Parties. This year, many member organizations have fully engaged themselves to propose a large interesting variety of special events, meetings, debates, films screenings and photo exhibitions from 18 to 22 November 2007 in the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center at the Dead Sea, Jordan.
The purpose is to make the 8th Meeting of States Parties an exciting place for a broader presentation and discussion on landmines and cluster munitions problem and a unique chance to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Mine Ban Treaty during the 8th Meeting of States Parties taking place in the Gulf region. The 8MSP conferences start officially on Sunday 18 November with the Official Opening of the Meeting of States Parties at 10.00 in the KHBT Convention Center.
