Intersessional Meetings (ISC)

In order to ensure the systematic and effective implementation of the Mine Ban Treaty, five informal, open-ended intersessional Standing Committees were established at the First Meeting of the States Parties. The 2MSP consolidated them into four Standing Committees. The intersessional meetings are open to States Parties, States not party, relevant international organizations and non-governmental organizations. The ICBL actively participates in those meetings, delivers expert statements, makes the voice of mine survivors heard, organizes side events and feeds information to the media.

The following pages include the daily or thematic updates as well as ICBL statements at the intersessional Standing Committees meetings since 2003.

Agendas and reports from all the intersessional meetings are available on the Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) website.

If you are an ICBL member and want to contribute to the work of any particular ISC, please contact Tamar Gabelnick, Treaty Implementation Director, who prepares input and identifies speakers for the intersessional work.

Standing Committees meetings are open and inclusive and relevant NGOs and individuals are welcome to attend at their own expense. You must register with the GICHD and inform the ICBL.
