ICBL Recruiting Nairobi-based Volunteers to Support Campaign Participation

The ICBL is looking for dynamic, Nairobi-based volunteers to support campaign preparations for the upcoming Nairobi Summit on a Mine-Free World, taking place at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) in Gigiri.

We are looking for individuals who can commit to:

  • Participating in a volunteer orientation session in mid-November
  • Helping to prepare participant kits for a few hours in mid-November
  • Volunteering part time or full time from Thursday, 25 November - Sunday, 5 December.

Flexible, creative and organized individuals with a sense of humor are needed to provide support to special events and exhibitions and help out in the campaign office at UNON.

We are looking for volunteers who are:

  • Proficiency in English (both verbal and written). Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
  • Friendly, responsible and professional manner. Strong interpersonal skills.
    Comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Individuals must be adaptable and able to work in a constantly changing environment. Positions will entail a broad range of tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Office staff: previous administrative experience is an asset. Computer skills are a must.

Volunteers will receive:

  • A daily stipend of KSH 500 to cover transportation and meal costs during the Summit.
  • A certificate of achievement in recognition of their efforts during the Summit.
  • Valuable skills development and career-related experience.
  • An introduction to the ICBL and to an urgent regional humanitarian and security issue.
    Opportunity to work in a cross-cultural environment.
