Produced for a symposium organized by the ICRC in Montreux, Switzerland, in April 1993, this film covers every aspect of the problem of anti-personnel mines. Long after hostilities have ended, these terrible weapons continue to kill or maim innocent civilians and prevent refugees from returning home. Scenes filmed in Cambodia, Afghanistan and Somalia show mine-blast victims, the surgical care and rehabilitation they receive and mine-clearance operations. The President of the ICRC and a number of surgeons call for a ban on the use of anti-personnel mines.
