For openings in mine clearance, we recommend contacting humanitarian mine clearance organizations (i.e. Norwegian People’s Aid, Mines Advisory Group) directly to see if they have any openings. A good forum for getting in touch with others working in the mine action field is through the MGM online forum. Sign up for the forum at www.mgm.org
Please note that mine clearance organizations do not accept foreign volunteers. Besides physically removing mines, there are many things that you can do in your region to work towards eliminating landmines. From raising awareness of the issue in your community to ensuring that your country joins the Mine Ban Treaty or fully implements it, to raising funds and sponsoring a mine-detection dog, the sky is the limit!
