Field
Special logic
Short name
This will become the URL/webaddress of the document - www.icbl.org/news/[name]. So if name is "US Bans Landmines" the URL will become www.icbl.org/news/us_bans_landmines (all converted to lowercase and _ for spaces, any special charactes omitted)
If two articles have the same name the last one added will have it's URL with __1 added at the end even if the name in the form remains the same.
This text becomes the "navigation strip" (eg Home : News : US Bans Landmines) on top of the document too - so use proper casing and spacing.
Title
Title on top when the document is read. Will also show when you browse for related objects and later list the related objects.
Title for front
This is what will show when the news article is listed on the very front and on /news. Can very well be the same as the title
Blurb and intro
These fields can in theory have the same content. But blurb is what will show with the "title for front" when the news article is listed on the ICBL front and in the news archive. Intro shows emphasized on top of the article.
No need to empasize/bold the whole text in these fields as the system will take care of this.
Publication date/time
If this is set to a date in the future the article will not show until that date. It will only be available before that to you/the one who published in your "Pending List". If you are working on an article and don't want it to show then save the draft and go to your drafts later on.
Author
This information will automatically be filled in with the name and e-mail of the creator. You can change and add more authors if desired.
Keywords
Add in themes like stockpile destruction, victim assistance and country names. This will result in the news article beeing show on pages that automatically list news articles on that keyword. See more on this here.
Use lower case and commas to separate words.
Location
If applicable, the location where the event happens or the article was released. City and country separated by comma.
PDF version
Should be a PDF duplicate of the news article. If a nicely formated print version of the page exists, eg. with letterhead or similar, it can be uploaded in this field. The PDF will automatically be linked at the top of the page. The link found there can be copied (right click>copy shortcut) and used as a link elsewhere in the article. If you wish to attach a related document which only exists as a PDF then see Attaching "related" documents or files to your pages
Frontpage image
If you have uploaded images/made image relations in the news article you can use this field to select if/which to use as frontpage image. This means the image will show beside the blurb on www.icbl.org/news or if its of the three first articles on the front.
Show related articles at end and Show sub-articles/children at end
Ticking either of these will make related articles and sub-articles at the end of the page. This is done in addition to showing them in the right column.
Enable comments
With this ticked visitors on the site can add their comments to the page. Campaigner comments appear directly, all others are reviewed before they appear.
Should you wish to link directly to the comments the anchor/bookmark is "comments" - meaning you can link to it as just #comments anywhere on the page.
Subject
This is the subject of the e-mail that will be sent to the author of the article if the visitors click the author name. Only becomes possible if a valid e-mail has been given in "Author e-mail"
Other URL
If a value is specified here the link on the front and elswhere where this article is listed will go directly to that page insted. So if this is used the news article itself will never be shown, only its title for front, blurb and publication date. Useful if you want to highlight a special page which is not a news article but a regular page or folder.
