How to setup a vacation reply or automatic message when I'm away?

Your SPAMFLTER@SPATMFLTERicbl.org e-mail account comes with a feature called Vacation Message. This can be used to let the people writing you know that you're not going to be able to answer their message. You can then also provide information about alternative means or people they should contact and for how long you will be away.

Remember to turn it off once you return!

Things to know about the vacation reply

  • Replies are normally not sent to mailinglists.
However some mailinglists may not follow the established standards and not be recognized as such. If you see your vacation reply going out to mailinglists you subscribe to you should not use the vacation reply again unless you know this has been changed.
  • Replies are normally not sent if your own address (or one of your aliases) appears as the sender.
Hence to test if the vacation reply is working you need to send from another address.
