What are the different types of pages I can make?

Permission to create the different pages depends on your access settings on the system. Some of the listed may not be available to you.

All the listed page types can have relations to each other - enabling listing of one page on another. This is done with "Related Objects" found in the right column when editing.

Page type (class)

Description

Folder

  • The folders are intended as containers for other elements. A short description of it's own and then listing it's contents/children.
  • The contents/children of a folder will usually be listed in boxes, three per line.
  • Folders can be placed in other folders, articles and news articles.
  • They can contain other folders, articles and links. Under the FAQ they can also contain FAQuestions.

Article

  • This is the most common page type for regular pages on the site with longer text.
  • Placed in folders, other articles (as a sub-article) or in news articles (again as sub-article)
  • They can contain folders, other articles and links.

News Article

  • News articles are used to post news and elements that don't form part of the regular ICBL site.
  • News articles can only be placed in www.icbl.org/news
  • Only News Articles can show on the front.
  • News articles can contain folders, articles and links.

Links

  • Links can be internal or external, but preferably internal links should be listed by using the Related Objects feature.
  • Links can not contain any other objects
  • Links can be placed in/children of folders, articles and news articles.

Once the Index on Landmines has been transferred to this system most links should be added as elements there. Up until this happens external links should preferably be made by plain linking in the text (using the chain icon in the toolbar).

File

  • Files can be used to attach content which is not available in text format to other pages. Can be used for any kind of file.
  • If the document is not very long (ie longer than 10 pages) you should preferably create as an article and use the PDF field found in articles to upload a PDF/print version.
  • Files can be placed in folders, articles and news articles.
