NB! This feature should _only_ be used for 100% final documents. As editing the document before the date you set it to publish is very difficult. Use "Save draft" if you just want to wait to publish the page, then open the draft and use "Send for publishing" when you are ready to publish.
If you type a publication date (and time) in the future for News Articles and Articles they will not show on the site until that date and time.
Note the following when about setting a future publication date
- if you have already clicked send for publishing with the current date and time it can no longer be unpublished and hence will show even if you set a new date in the future.
- You can not add sub-articles/children to an article with a future publication date since it has then not yet been published.
- A page set to publish in the future is no longer a draft, but since it is not yet published it can not either be viewed and edited as a regular page. Hence use "Store draft" until
How to edit a page set to publish in the future?
If you set a future date/time when you publish an article or news article these will not be available for normal editing until they have reached the publication time. Thus it is preferable to work with the page as a draft until you have made your final version.
If you need to edit articles like this you can do this:
- Find "My pending list" in your personal menu
- Klick the title of the latest version of the article you want to edit
- Click "Versions" at the bottom
- Click "Copy and edit" at the bottom
- When editing make sure to give the new version a later publication time (one minute is enough) or else the first version will be the displayed version.
