What's the best way to upload a PDF file?

Note that PDFs should be used only when there's an added value to putting them up. And where possible you should also provide the text content of the PDF as a webpage. Thise because PDFs are heavier to download and makes it technically harder to access the information.

Two options:

  1. Your PDF is textually a copy of what you put on a webpage as a News Article or a regular Article:
Use the PDF field available with the article.
The PDF will be available as PDF icon on top of the page and as a text link under Page Info on the right of the page. It will also show a PDF icon by the title when the article is listed in folders.
NOTE: This should only be done if the PDF will contain significant visual difference (images, formatting +++) over the text version.
  2. You don't have or want to provide the text version of the document, or it makes no sense without it's formatting and images:
Create a file child/sub-article of the folder or article you are in.
The file will automatically be linked under sub-articles in the right margin. Tick "show sub-articles/children" to also have it listed at the end of articles.
