The June 2005 Edition of the ICBL News is now available online. In order to reflect the changes and renewal of ICBL, the ICBL News, previously the Landmine Update, underwent a light "format-lift". The first edition of the ICBL News was released during the Intersessional Standing Committee Meetings in Geneva, 13th-17th June 2005.
Starting from June 2005, ICBL will be releasing online a bimonthly edition of the "ICBL News" to inform the campaigners on activities and events of the national campaigns and the progress of the implementation of the Treaty.
In addition to the online news, ICBL has decided to release annually two hardcopies which coincide with the two important annual meetings for the Campaign: the Intersessional Standing Committee Meetings and the Meeting of the State Parties. The next harcopy will be released and distributed at the next Meeting of the State Parties in Zagreb, Croatia (November 28 - December 2).
We strongly encourage the national campaigns to actively participate in the writing of the next harcopy edition (November), in addition to the bimonthly online news. It is important that we continue to work on ICBL visibility and communication. The ICBL News is an important communication tool which also helps to carry our message to the public. Please share your ideas with us and keep us informed on your activities.
The first ICBL News edition was released last June during the Intersessional Standing Committe Meetings in Geneva, 13th to 17th June 2005. ICBL News proudly announced the launch of the Nairobi Report and presented the new ICBL staff and ICBL new structure. An overview of the national campaigns' activities and events by region was also presented.
