Report: Regional Conference on Landmines

The "Regional Conference on Landmines," held in Budapest, Hungary
from 26-28 March 1998, was the first meeting held following the
historic treaty signing and the first time the ICBL met in eastern
Europe. Participants from 19 European countries from the Balkans to
the Baltics came to Budapest as the International Campaign to Ban
Landmines promoted campaign involvement in the region and
encouraged support for universalization efforts in Europe. This report
covers the meeting sessions and includes statements and presentation
notes from key speakers.
