  In 1982, wheelchair writer Liu Hsia and a group of Christians wishing to help improve the overall condition of disabled individuals in Taiwan established a little foundation with just two employees. Twenty years later after overcoming a myriad of obstacles, this foundation has evolved into a national institution employing over 700 full time staff across the country and is called the Eden Social Welfare Foundation.
