Key developments since May 2000: Nauru acceded to the Mine Ban Treaty on 7 August 2000.

Nauru acceded to the Mine Ban Treaty on 7 August 2000. The treaty entered into force for Nauru on 1 February 2001. It voted in support of UN General Assembly Resolution 55/33V in November 2000. Nauru is believed to have never produced, transferred, stockpiled, or used antipersonnel mines. Its initial Article 7 transparency measures report is due by 31 July 2001.
