SAN MARINO

The Republic of San Marino signed the Mine Ban Treaty on 3 December 1997 and ratified it on 18 March 1998. The treaty entered into force on 1 March 1999. San Marino has not submitted its Article 7 transparency report to the UN, which was due on 28 August 1999. San Marino did not attend the Second Meeting of States Parties in September 2000 or the meetings of the intersessional Standing Committees in December 2000 and May 2001. San Marino voted in favor of the November 2000 UN General Assembly resolution supporting the Mine Ban Treaty. San Marino is not a party to the Convention on Conventional Weapons. San Marino does not produce, transfer, stockpile, or use antipersonnel landmines, and is not mine-affected. It contributed US$14,977.50 in 2000 to the UN Voluntary Trust for Assistance in Mine Action.
