Applications Sought for Mine Action Researchers/Editors

Two consultancy positions with Landmine Monitor's mine action team need to be filled for calendar year 2007. The team needs two hard-working professionals with knowledge of mine action and a proven commitment to high-quality research who will research and edit the mine action section of around 25 country reports each.

Excellent written and spoken English is essential but other languages (especially Arabic, French, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish) are a distinct advantage. Landmine Monitor works to tight deadlines largely through email so self-discipline and flexibility are a must. Some travel to relevant international fora and on selected field missions is also required.

An ICBL consultancy contract will be offered to each of the two successful applicants starting 1 January 2007. Remuneration will be in accordance with Landmine Monitor pay scales and depending on experience.

Interested applicants should apply by email to Stuart Maslen before 1 September 2006 explaining their motivation and attaching an up-to-date CV.
