ICBL Resource Centre
hi ya'll. this is to inform you that we have a new coordinator of the Oslo Resource Center, who has been in Oslo one week and is installing and setting up now, Dalma Foeldes (!!)
The Resource Center has moved physical location, and the postal address will remain PO Box 8844, Youngstorget, Oslo, N0028 Norway, while the telephone/fax will change. The new numbers are:
tel:(+47) 22 362 200
fax:(+47) 22 362 280
email: (effective next week, not yet)
will be resourceSPAMFLTER@SPATMFLTERicbl.org
[as of 14. February 1999 still not functional - please use e-mail dalma-at-icbl-hypermart-net (will continue working for 1 year)]
Dalma has asked me to re-circulate the
questionnaire on the resource center which Guro mailed to all campaigns a few months ago. If you have not yet replied, please take a few moments to read and reply now so she can help set it up to best suit your needs.
In addition, if you, or any of your campaign colleagues, are Landmine Monitor researchers and as such traveling to Oslo in early March, please consider bringing/sending with them a few samples of your campaign materials: brochures, posters, photos, games, documents, whatever - it will help stock the center with your work, to serve as examples for other campaigns, and get it there without postage fees/worries. Thank you very much.

Dear Campaigners Oslo,
Re.: ICBL Resource Center
The ICBL Resource Center in Oslo is now in the process of developing and further expanding its services. One of the main goals of the center is not only to centralise publications on landmines and the campaign to ban them (including documents, photos, slides, posters, videos, CDs, postcards, brochures and other campaign material) in order to offer more broad
information to those interested in landmines and the ICBL, but also to provide you with
essential resources. We also wish to develop a photograph/slide/exhibition materials library so that YOU can use these resources in your own campaign activities. We want it to become an active, dynamic resource center to serve your campaign needs rather than a historic archive.
In this respect we kindly ask you to
let us know what kind of material your campaign holds and send us copies, so that we can expand the resources at the center, as well as take a few moments to tell us what kind of resources you would like
to have us develop fo access by all campaigners.
So in this regard we ask that you answer the following questions regarding your thoughts about the Resource Center, so we
can build a center that meets the needs and interest of campaigners
as well as the general public.
1. What expectation do you have of the ICBL Resource Center? What is it that you want the center to be?
2. What kind of information/ resources would be most useful to you at the center? What material would you like the center to develop and contain? What format? Would you most use photos (size?) - for publications or for exhibitions?
Slides? Videos? CD rom? other media?
3. How will you use the center?
4. Other thoughts.
