hello all. i am forwarding to all of you the Hague Appeal for Peace registration form and information. They ask that you print it and fax (+31 24 360 1159) or post it, rather than emailing in registration. The deadline for reduced fee registration is 15 January 1999. They note that it is acceptable for organizations to make registrations (with payment) for a fixed number of people, without giving the names of the persons at this stage. This way you can still qualify for the discount rate. Copies of their booklet are available on request, as is a summary of the draft Hague Agenda for Peace and Justice.
We have endorsed the HAP, as ICBL, and have agreed to put together an exhibit (dalma foeldes, the new oslo resource center coordinator will be coordinating this), participate in the disarmament and human security strand preparation and the HAP Gender Focus group, organize several workshops and provide speakers at the closing plenary (jody) and the disarmament strand plenary (to be determined). WE means YOU too! We encourage all of the campaigns to get involved in HAP, support it, spread the news, register to attend, and help us organize ICBL’s participation and presence at HAP. If you have ideas for a workshop, would like to
organize one, contribute to the exhibit, or to ICBL participation in any way, please let me know. ideas, commitments are all welcome NOW. In order to better organize they need to hear from us ASAP, so please respond quickly. help us coordinate our participation in the important event by also informing us if you are registering, even if in another capacity or wearing multiple ’hats’. thanks, liz
