Reporting Update #8
(20 April 2000)
The UN has received and posted to the web, new article seven reports from Bosnia-H, Ecuador and Italy as well as year two article seven reports from Mexico and Switzerland.
To date forty-one countries have submitted article seven reports to the UN SG and these have been posted by the Dept. Disarmament Affairs to the Internet at: http://domino.un.org/Ottawa.nsf
Thirty-four states parties are late in submitting their reports. If you are in or in contact with one of these countries, please check to see why they are late and encourage them to submit their report now.
Article Seven also requires annual updates covering the last calendar year, to be reported by 30 April each year. To date two countries that have already submitted a first report, have also done their second report (Mexico and Switzerland).
