Campaign and Resources Intern

The International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL), 1997 Nobel Peace Prize Co-laureate, is a coalition of over 1400 member organizations in 90 countries working to ban landmines and support mine clearance and victim assistance projects. The ICBL has a small staff working worldwide, with two staff members located in its Washington, DC office.

The ICBL is currently seeking two creative and energetic individuals to intern at the Washington, DC office on Capitol Hill throughout Summer 2003. The positions are full-time hours (40 hours per week), and unsalaried.

The Campaign and Resources Interns will:

  • Provide campaigns and individuals with needed resources and materials;
  • Maintain and organize campaign resources;
  • Assist with website maintenance;
  • Provide support for youth outreach projects;
  • Draft letters, action alerts and other documents; and,
  • Assist with office maintenance and additional projects as requested.

We are looking for university students with:

  • Activist experience and a strong desire to work towards a mine-free world;
  • Superb English written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong research skills;
  • Strong computer skills and basic database and website design and maintenance skills;
  • The ability to take initiative on projects and work independently with little supervision;
  • Fluency in languages other than English is an asset; and,
  • The ability to be creative, flexible and adaptable.
