RE: Memo regarding ICBL General Meeting 2003 Preparation: Documents,
Agenda, CC proposal for post 04
Message and documents for preparation for GM
Dear All,
Thank you for your hard work preparing for the 5MSP, your lobbying work at home, as well as your registration and logistical work, for those of you attending the meetings in Bangkok. This memo is about the upcoming General Meeting, and its preparation, and is intended for all ICBL member campaigns, their members, and so we ask that whether you are participating in the General Meeting or not, you share it, and discuss it with your colleagues so that we all arrive in Bangkok well-prepared and with the same information.
All of the information listed below is available at www.icbl.org/campaign/gm2003.
Please visit it now and frequently between now and the GM. If you cannot access it or any documents listed below, please let me know and Word versions can be sent.
1) Agenda: The draft agenda for the meeting is available here and at the main page as well.
2) Background documents:
A. CC: The memo sent to all campaigns regarding CC participation is
available
B. ICBL Documents: The ICBL Annual Report, the ICBL Audited Financial
Statements for 2001 and 2002 are all available online in the GM section.
The
Annual Report 2002is online.
The Independent Auditors' Financial Statement for 2001 is also available here
as is the Independent Auditors' Financial Statement for 2002.
C. Post 2004: As you know, we undertook an extensive consultation regarding
campaign views for the post 2004 period. The results from the post 2004
questionnaire have been fed into an Excel sheet and presented in various
charts. It can be downloaded as a
PDF file here
and it can also be viewed online although some
browsers may have problems with this.
A sampling of responses, in quote form, can be viewed here.
The views and intents expressed in the answers to this questionnaire are
only intended for internal ICBL use and should not be taken for official
ICBL policy or views. They were used as a basis for the CC proposal for the
ICBL post 04.
The CC did indeed draft an ICBL Coordinating Committee Proposal to the ICBL
General Meeting
on ICBL Goals, Structure and Activities Post-2004. It is based on these
consultations and discussions at its meeting in May, as indicated in the CC
Meeting minutes, and the CC puts the draft proposal to the General Meeting
for consideration by all campaign members now, for discussion, etc at the
GM itself in Bangkok. Please read and discuss it with your colleagues
before coming to Bangkok.
It can be found at www.icbl.org/campaign/gm2003/post2004.
Thank you and I look forward to a successful meeting with all of you in
Bangkok!
Liz
