Schedule for TCBL Field Trip to Mine-Affected Areas

(Thursday 28 August 2003 Bangkok, Thailand) The TCBL Field trip to Mine Affected Areas on Saturday, 13 September is now full. Two buses and a van will depart from Suan Dusit Palace Hotel at 6 am sharp. If you are participating on this trip, please be there on time.

There will be 3 groups with 2 big buses (40 passengers each) and 1 van (10 persons.) The first group leaves Suan Dusit for Chanthaburi, and will be led by Khun Ing and her team of 4 volunteers. The second group will go to Sa Kaeo, to be led by Khun Moo's team. The third, returning early for meetings Saturday night, will also go to Sa Kaeo - joining the second group for the first part and to visit a different village in Taphraya, then return earlier than the others. Saroj and Ah will lead the second and third groups. A fourth bus of Cambodian and Thai survivors will join the group and return to Bangkok to participate in activities on Sunday 14 September and the Opening Ceremonies of the 5MSP on Monday 15 September.

Schedule for Chanthaburi Group:
06:00 hrs. Depart from Suan Dusit Palace Hotel / Breakfast on the bus
10:00 hrs. Arriving at Chanthaburi-Trad Border Prevention Force, Muang District, Chanthaburi Province. Briefing of Landmine Situation at Chanthaburi Border
10:45 hrs. Depart for Pong Namron District, Chanthaburi Province.
11:30 hrs. Meet with Mr. Phiphop Damthongsuk, District Head at Pong Namron District Office.
12:00 hrs. Lunch at Ing Dao Resort, Pong Namron District.
13:00 hrs. Visit Mine-affected areas, Marking and Demining Activities of the Humanitarian Mine Action Unit 2
14:45 hrs. Depart for Nong Kok Village, Thep Nimit Sub-district, Pong Namron, Chanthaburi.
15:00 hrs. Meet with landmine survivors and visit to their prosthetic workshop
15:45 hrs. Depart for Bangkok / Heavy snack on the bus
20:30 hrs. Arrival at Suan Dusit Palace Hotel

Schedule for Sa Kaeo I Group:

11:00 hrs. Arriving at Demining Site, next to the Sadok Gok Thom Ancient Sanctuary, Khok Soong Branch District, Sa Kaeo Province. Briefing by GCCF/JAHDS (Japan Alliance for Humanitarian Demining Support - Thailand)Demining Demonstration by Civilian Deminers of GCCF/JAHDS
12:30 hrs. Lunch / Visit the Sadok Gok Thom Ancient Santuary
13:30 hrs. Depart for Khok Sabaeng and Nong Ian Villages (mine-affected communities), Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province
14:30 hrs. Meet with Village Heads, landmine survivors and community members.
15:45 hrs. Depart for Bangkok / Heavy Snack on the bus
20:00 hrs. Arrival at Suan Dusit Palace Hotel
