Banned! Historical and Resource Guide to the Landmin Ban Movement

The ICBL will release the CD ROM BANNED! Historical and Resource Guide to the Landmine Ban Movement on 29 November 2004 at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) in Nairobi, Kenya during the historic Nairobi Summit on a Mine-Free World, the First Review Conference of the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty.

BANNED! makes key historical and archival documents and information about the landmines issue available to campaign members, international organizations, governments, media, academics, student researchers and the public. This new resource demonstrates the ICBL’s ongoing projects to to ensure that information and resources about the landmines issue is as accessible as possible to campaign members.

Included is an interactive timeline documenting campaign highlights, a full chronology of the mine ban movement and an annotated bibliography of key documents about landmines. The full text of many older reports not previously available electronically is also included.

This CD ROM could not have been produced without the hard work, perseverance and attention to detail by ICBL interns Kaveh Namdaran, Stefanie Carmichael and Vanessa Gamet. Support was provided by ICBL Coordinator Liz Bernstein, Project Officer Jackie Hansen and by other ICBL staff and country campaigns.

To order a copy of the CD ROM please email icbl@icbl.org.
