Information Kit to article 9 of the Mine Ban Treaty

Article 9 of the Mine Ban Treaty requires that each State Party enact
national legislation prohibiting the use and development of landmines
within its territory. The purpose of this Information Kit is to assist
State Parties in developing legislation to implement the Treaty and to
identify the elements to be considered when preparing such laws.
Developed by the International Committee of the Red Cross with the
support of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines and the
Government of Belgium, this kit includes examples of common and
civil law legislation from France, Mali, New Zealand, Spain, Trinidad
and Tobago and the United Kingdom.
