The "Portfolio of Mine-related Projects" was initially developed by three
non-governmental organizations (NGOs): Handicap International,
Mines Advisory Group and Norwegian People's Aid. The United Nations
(UN) took over responsibility for the Portfolio and expanded and
updated the site. The Portfolio outlines the broad range of mine action
programs and projects supported by the various entities of the UN
system. It aims to assist in mobilizing the voluntary contributions
required for successful project implementation. Despite significant
efforts by international organizations and the NGO community, not all
of the mine-related projects receive adequate funding.
