"Clearing the Fields" publishes papers presented at a high-level
symposium held by the Center for International Health and
Cooperation and the Council on Foreign Relations in New York City on
29 April 1994. The list of contributors includes United States
diplomats, International Committee of the Red Cross surgeons and
leading academics. Chapters cover topics demonstrating the needs for
a multidisciplinary approach to resolution of the problem, including
international law, military concerns, medical consequences, ethics,
humanitarian assistance and demining technology.
