Deaths and injuries caused by landmines in Mozambique

Published in the British medical journal "The Lancet" in September
1995, this study was among the first clinical research conducted on
the medical consequences of landmines. The authors surveyed
households in Mozambique and concluded that most mine victims are
civilians. The findings from this study supported the call by nongovernmental
organizations for a complete mine ban.
