Rae McGrath (for ICBL), 1997 Nobel Peace Prize speech

"A Matter of Justice & Humanity" is the acceptance speech given by
Rae McGrath on behalf of the International Campaign to Ban
Landmines (ICBL) in Oslo, Norway on 10 December 1997 upon
accepting the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize. The ICBL successfully lobbied
governments to adopt the Mine Ban Treaty in 1997 and was
subsequently awarded the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize together with
founding coordinator Jody Williams. This award brought renewed
attention to the coalition and to the continued efforts to ban
antipersonnel mines. In his speech, McGrath highlights some of the
reasons for the creation of the ICBL, but focuses on future activities
and challenges for the movement.
