This is the autobiography of Chris Moon, an ex-military officer turned mine-clearance operative. While supervising mine-clearance in Mozambique in 1995, Chris Moon was injured by a landmine and suffered the loss of his lower right leg and right arm. Following his rehabilitation, Moon became an advocate for greater support for survivors of landmines, a distance runner and a motivational speaker. In his book, Moon details his struggle to regain his strength and independence following his injury. Moon emphasizes that disabled people should not be pitied but have goals and aspirations like the rest of society. Today, Moon continues to successfully run marathons to raise money and awareness for the landmines cause.
