Providing Assistance to Landmine Victims: A Collection of Guidelines, Best Practices and Methodologies.

"Providing Assistance to Landmine Victims: A Collection of Guidelines,
Best Practices and Methodologies" is the product of a commitment
made in December 2000 by past Co-Chairs of the Standing Committee
on Victim Assistance, Socio-Economic Reintegration and Mine
Awareness to coordinate the compilation of various documents
providing guidelines on victim assistance. The compilation, produced
on behalf of the Co-Chairs by Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs
and International Trade, consists of nine documents that discuss and
provide recommendations for the medical and socio-economic needs of
landmine victims, effective targeting of donor assistance and better
coordination of victim assistance services. The documents were
developed by various actors with expertise in the field, including the
International Campaign to Ban Landmines, the International
Committee of the Red Cross and the World Health Organization, and
have been useful in informing donor strategies and programmes to
better meet the needs of landmine survivors.
