The aim of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines Working
Group on Victim Assistance is to ensure the effective care, treatment,
rehabilitation and reintegration of landmine survivors, their families
and communities. The guidelines outlined in this booklet were one of
the first publications on the subject and, at the time of publication,
were the key principles for the care and rehabilitation of those victims
who have suffered physical injury from landmines as well as to
support other persons with disabilities.
