Assistance

Every State Party is in a position to provide assistance and should come to Nairobi committed to fulfill this task.

Mine affected States are firstly responsible for taking ownership of their mine problem, and expressing their needs to address it. But meeting the Convention humanitarian objectives requires the support of those States in a position to provide the assistance needed to clear mines or help survivors.

Encourage your government to:

1) identify what kind of assistance they might provide to clear mines or help survivors, be it financial, technical or sharing of experience

2) provide this assistance for capacity building of the local authorities to develop and implement plans for mine action and victim assistance,.

3) make this contribution public in Nairobi or before to encourage others !
