Mine Awareness

It is extremely important to teach people how to live as safely as possible in an area contaminated with landmines. Mine Awareness or Mine Risk Reduction Education Projects work to raise awareness of the dangers of landmines for people living in mine-affected communities.

Often popular theater, songs, posters and games are used to express information about how landmines look and function, how to stay out of mined areas, and what to do if you come across a landmine. When working together with mine clearance, mine awareness can reduce the number of mine incidents and ensure better targeted mine clearance.
