In conjunction with the 2004 Nairobi Summit on a Mine Free World, the Youth Mine Action Ambassador Program (YMAAP) and Mines Action Canada (MAC) and its partners in the ICBL will coordinate a one-week International Youth Leadership, Education and Action Program Symposium (International Youth Symposium) in Nairobi.
The Symposium will enable young leaders aged 18-26 to build their mine action campaign skills, network with one another and with more established members of the mine action community, and contribute to the goals of the Review Conference. The International Youth Symposium will also present the global movement with an opportunity to nurture its next generation of campaigners, as well as implement an important aspect of the ICBL 2004 Action Plan.
