In order to ensure the systematic and effective implementation of the Mine Ban Treaty, five informal, open-ended intersessional Standing Committees (SCs) were established at the Maputo First Meeting of States Parties (1MSP). The 2MSP consolidated the five SCs into 4 SCs. These intersessional meetings are open to all governments (States Parties and States not Party), relevant International Organizations and NGOs.As of 2005 these Standing Committees meet once a year in Geneva - Switzerland. Input by ICBL National Campaigns and member NGOs is encouraged and coordinated through the ICBL Working Groups and ICBL Treaty Implementation Director, Tamar Gabelnick.
